Turbid water, high NO2 — how to handle it?

Turbid pond water with high NO2/NH3 indicates microbial imbalance. Requires quick treatment to prevent shock and mortality.

White feces, EHP — how to handle it?

White feces (floating feces, loose or broken gut contents) can come from gut microbial imbalance, harmful bacteria, gregarines, toxic algae or environmental stress; ponds with EHP also often show white feces. Do not conclude EHP from white feces alone — examine samples and run PCR. Than Vuong's protocol: feed CLEVER + FLASH to support gut microbial balance while checking and stabilising the pond.

Weak appetite, slow growth — how to handle it?

Weak appetite and slow growth usually caused by nutritional deficiency, environmental stress or gut issues. Need vitamins + minerals + digestive enzymes.

Vibrio, disease outbreak — how to handle it?

Vibrio parahaemolyticus causes early mortality syndrome (EMS/AHPND), black spots, liver necrosis. Need disinfection + bacterial control + immune boost.

Swollen liver, weak pancreas — how to handle it?

A swollen or shrunken, pale hepatopancreas with fewer lipid droplets is weakened — often by toxins (toxic algae, gases, poor feed), after a course of drugs, bacteria or parasites. Find the cause, lighten its load and feed hepatopancreas-support products at label doses.

Fish diseases — how to handle it?

Fish with ulcers, hemorrhaging, gill rot, fungal infections, parasites. Need water disinfection + treatment + nutritional recovery.

Snail farming — how to handle it?

Babylonia snails need clean water, sufficient minerals for shell formation, stable probiotics. Specialized products for mollusks.

Veterinary medicine — how to handle it?

Veterinary medicines for bacterial infections, parasites in shrimp, fish and livestock. Note withdrawal periods before harvest.

What NH3 level is dangerous for shrimp?

NH3 above 0.1 mg/L causes stress, above 0.3 mg/L can be lethal. Apply YUCCA immediately when NH3 exceeds 0.1 mg/L and treat the root with SOILMAX New + MAX 4000 probiotics.

How long does it take to reduce high NO2?

With MAX 4000 specialized NO2 probiotics, usually 2-3 days for noticeable reduction. Use starting dose 200g/1,000m³ for 3 consecutive days, then maintain every 3-5 days.

Can white feces spread from one pond to another?

Yes. EHP and Vibrio causing white feces spread through water, equipment, and infected postlarvae. Disinfect equipment between ponds, PCR-test postlarvae before stocking.

EHP (Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei) is a microsporidian with no complete cure yet. The approach is early prevention, keeping the gut and hepatopancreas healthy (FLASH + CLEVER per Than Vuong's protocol) and building resistance so shrimp keep eating and growing.

How to identify hepatopancreas problems in shrimp?

Check by gently pressing the liver: healthy liver is dark brown, firm, doesn't break. Weak liver is pale (yellow/white), swollen, breaks easily under light pressure, lipid loss (no oil when pressed). Check weekly.

Shrimp liver is pale but still eating, should I treat?

Treat immediately. Pale liver is an early sign — if delayed, shrimp will stop eating and die en masse. Add HERB GUARD + LIVER GRO immediately, reduce feed 30% to relieve liver workload.

What is TPD and how does it differ from EMS/AHPND?

TPD (Translucent Postlarvae Disease) is caused by toxin-gene-carrying Vibrio parahaemolyticus VP4-24 attacking PL5-PL15 postlarvae: translucent body, shrunken hepatopancreas, empty gut, bottom-sitting, 80-100% mortality within days. Unlike EMS/AHPND, TPD causes no obvious soft shell — it destroys digestive mucosa cells directly, so early prevention and a healthy gut and hepatopancreas are key.

What are the earliest signs of TPD in PL?

Under magnification/light: PL turn abnormally translucent, the hepatopancreas shrinks and pales, the gut is empty of feed, weak PL sit at the tank bottom. Once 5-10% of PL show these signs, mortality typically explodes to 80-100% within 2-3 days — call a technician and act immediately.
