CANFORTA
Plump shrimp, firm meatAn amber B-vitamin solution mixed into feed when shrimp eat poorly, grow slowly or moult with stuck shells — or to push weight gain in the run-up to harvest.

Five things CANFORTA does in the pond
Why three vitamins put meat on shrimp
The three actives in CANFORTA don't do three separate jobs — they sit on one production line that turns feed into shrimp meat. This answers the hardest question buyers ask: what do vitamins have to do with weight gain?
Miss one link and the feed still goes in — but it never becomes meat.
What high-absorption B vitamins do inside the shrimp
The absorption and FCR comparisons and the cooked-shrimp photo are illustrative.
Three actives — and how much actually reaches the feed
From the declared quality specification, per litre. TAB. 02 converts this into the vitamins delivered per kg of feed at each dose.
| Active | Minimum / litre | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamin B₁ | 400 mg | Thiamine — unlocks energy from starch and supports nerve signalling. |
| Nicotinamide | 5,000 mg | Vitamin B₃ — precursor of NAD, the cell's energy currency. The highest content. |
| Vitamin B₆ | 1,000 mg | Pyridoxine — the hub of protein metabolism, assembling amino acids into protein. |
| Solvent | to 1 litre | Distilled water. No carrier — so coating after mixing is a must. |
| Dose | Vitamin B₁ | Vitamin B₆ | Nicotinamide |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 g/kg | 1.2 mg | 3 mg | 15 mg |
| 5 g/kg | 2 mg | 5 mg | 25 mg |
| 7 g/kg | 2.8 mg | 7 mg | 35 mg |
| 10 g/kg | 4 mg | 10 mg | 50 mg |
Three dose ranges on one scale
Grams of product per kg of feed. Darker bands mean higher doses.| Situation | Dose | Meals | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| During the crop | 3 – 5 g/kg | 1 – 2 times/day | Throughout the crop |
| Weak shrimp, soft shell | 5 – 7 g/kg | 1 – 2 times/day | 3 – 5 days in a row |
| Fast weight gain | 7 – 10 g/kg | 1 – 2 times/day | In the run-up to harvest |
Four steps, about 25 minutes
The formula uses only distilled water as the solvent, with no carrier. Skip the coating step or feed while pellets are still wet and the actives dissolve into the water before the shrimp can eat them.
- 01MINUTE 0Shake and measureShake the bottle before measuring. Dilute with just enough clean water to wet that meal's feed evenly.
- 02MINUTE 1 – 3Mix into feedPour slowly and turn until fully absorbed. Mix only one meal's worth.
- 03MINUTE 3 – 5CoatCoat with ATOMIC or a suitable binder — this keeps the actives on the pellet.
- 04MINUTE 5 – 25Dry for 20 minutesWait the full 20 minutes for the coating to set, then feed.
- Mix one meal at a time. B vitamins are water-soluble and sensitive to light — feed mixed in advance loses potency by the next meal.
- Keep mixed feed out of the sun. Dry it in a cool, covered place during the 20-minute wait.
- Close the cap right after measuring, and store in a dry, cool place below 30 °C, away from direct sunlight.
Six situations to mix in CANFORTA
Stunted, slow growth
Uneven sizes; size stalls despite full feeding.
Poor appetite, weak gut absorption
Trays take long to clear; the gut looks faint or broken.
Stuck or soft shells
Incomplete moults; shells stay soft for a long time.
After disease, recovery phase
Shrimp need to regain strength and a normal appetite.
Shock, stress, high density
Weather swings, pond transfer, prolonged heavy rain.
Near harvest, size push
Push weight gain to reach a better-priced size.
Two things that go with CANFORTA
Feed binder (ATOMIC)
Not an optional add-on. The solvent is distilled water with no carrier — skip the coating and the actives end up in the pond instead of the shrimp's gut.
Four common questions
01Can CANFORTA replace the vitamin premix in the feed?
No. At 5 g/kg, CANFORTA adds about 2 mg of B₁ per kg of feed, while the published requirement for whiteleg shrimp is 19.7 mg/kg. It is an extra top-up for periods when shrimp eat little or absorb poorly, not a replacement for the vitamins in the feed formula.
02Can I mix a whole day's feed in advance?
Better not. B vitamins are water-soluble and sensitive to light and heat. Mix enough for the next meal, let it dry for 20 minutes and feed right away.
03Can I mix it with other products in the same meal?
Yes. After disease, while shrimp are recovering, they often eat poorly and absorb less — that is when they need CANFORTA most. Mix meal by meal and don't load too many products into one coating batch.
04Is there a version for fish?
Yes. Than Vuong makes a CANFORTA for fish with a different feed-based dose (grow-out fish: 1 kg per 1,500 – 1,800 kg of feed; fingerlings: 1 kg per 800 – 1,200 kg). A dedicated page for the fish version is coming.
