Swollen liver, weak pancreas

A swollen or shrunken, pale hepatopancreas with fewer lipid droplets is weakened — often by toxins (toxic algae, gases, poor feed), after a course of drugs, bacteria or parasites. Find the cause, lighten its load and feed hepatopancreas-support products at label doses.

Treatment Protocol

  1. 1

Step 1: Check — examine hepatopancreas, gut and feces; count Vibrio on TCBS plates; test NH3, NO2, pH, alkalinity and oxygen; check algae density and type

  2. 2

Step 2: Poor hepatopancreas: cut feed by at least 50% and mix HERB GUARD at 10-15ml/kg feed; repeat the same dose after 1-2 days (per label)

  3. 3

Step 3: Pale hepatopancreas, supporting toxin removal: HERB GUARD 7-10ml/kg feed, or HEPA PRO 5-7ml/kg feed

  4. 4

Step 4: Once the water and parasites have been treated: apply HERB GUARD at 1 bottle/1,000m³ of water to help the hepatopancreas recover; repeat after 1-2 days

  5. 5

Step 5: With white feces, follow the white-feces protocol: CLEVER 5g/kg (morning, afternoon) + FLASH 7g/kg (midday) + HERB GUARD 7-10ml/kg for 7-10 days

  6. 6

Step 6: Maintain through the crop: LIVER GRO 3-5ml/kg or MAX LIVER 3-5g/kg feed, 2-3 times a day; raise feed back gradually as the hepatopancreas improves
