SATURATED FATTY ACIDS · BUTYRIC + CAPRYLIC
PRO SUR
Lower gut bacterial load, strong growth, safe for shrimp
Mixed into feed. PRO SUR is a solution of saturated fatty acids, including butyric and caprylic acid, with an amphiphilic nature: it breaks the cell membranes of unwanted gut bacteria without affecting beneficial lactic acid bacteria, helping shrimp digest and absorb nutrients better.

What PRO SUR does in the shrimp gut
Watch the amphiphilic fatty acids at work: they enter the membranes of unwanted bacteria and break them, while beneficial lactic acid bacteria stay intact — plus what the farm gets, the dose and how to use it.
Composition & mode of action
Amphiphilic fatty acids open up the membranes of unwanted bacteria
The fatty acid molecules in PRO SUR fit both the water-loving and the water-repelling parts of bacterial cell membranes and walls, so they can enter many different kinds of bacteria.
- 1Approach
Fatty acid molecules (water-loving head, water-repelling tail) reach the bacterial membrane.
- 2Enter the membrane
The water-repelling tails push into the membrane and destabilize it.
- 3Membrane breaks
The membrane opens, the cell contents leak out, and the bacteria cannot keep growing.

- 1Less pressure from unwanted bacteria
With their cell membranes broken, unwanted gut bacteria struggle to grow.
- 2Spares beneficial lactic acid bacteria
According to the product documentation, PRO SUR does not affect beneficial lactic acid bacteria, so the gut microbiota can rebalance.
- 3Healthy gut, better absorption
The gut environment improves, and shrimp digest and absorb nutrients better.
Benefits
What PRO SUR does
- Helps stabilize the gut and hepatopancreas microbiota of shrimp and helps limit the growth of harmful bacteria under intensive farming.
- Short-chain fatty acids and their esters improve the gut environment, lower the pressure from unwanted bacteria and support healthy shrimp.
- Helps balance the gut microbiota so shrimp digest and absorb nutrients better.
- Helps maintain hepatopancreas function and overall shrimp health under environmental stress.
Directions
Dosage
| Use case | Dose | Feeding | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| During the crop | 3 – 5 ml / kg of feed | 1 meal/day | Repeat every 5 – 7 days throughout the crop |
| Light gut cleanse | 5 ml / kg of feed | First meal, 1 meal/day | 2 days in a row |
| When the shrimp gut has problems, and during recovery | 7 – 10 ml / kg of feed | First meal | Feed for 2 – 3 days in a row |
How much PRO SUR to measure out
Enter the feed for one meal and pick the case.
In the Microbiome Farm Protocol, PRO SUR sits in the Gut layer: gut balance and hepatopancreas care, from day 1 to day 60. See the protocol →
How to use
Mix into feed in four steps
Shake the bottle
Shake the product well before measuring.
Measure and dilute
Measure PRO SUR by the dose and the feed for that meal, then dilute with just enough water.
Mix and coat
Mix evenly into the feed, then coat with ATOMIC or a suitable binder.
Dry for 20 minutes
Wait for the coating to dry before feeding.
The dose may change with shrimp health and actual farm conditions. Close the bottle or can tightly right after use if not finished. Withdrawal time before harvest: 0 days.
Use with
Combine for a stronger effect
Feed it in the same meal as a digestive enzyme product and a herbal product to strengthen the combined effect. If the pond is contaminated, also disinfect the water and re-seed the water with beneficial microbes.

FAQ
Common questions
Does PRO SUR remove the good bacteria in the gut?
According to the product documentation, the fatty acids in PRO SUR break the cell membranes of unwanted bacteria but do not affect beneficial lactic acid bacteria, so it can be used alongside gut probiotic products.
How do I use it routinely during the crop?
3 – 5 ml/kg of feed, 1 meal a day, repeated every 5 – 7 days throughout the crop.
How much when the shrimp gut has problems?
First meal, 7 – 10 ml/kg of feed, for 2 – 3 days in a row. Feed it in the same meal as a digestive enzyme and a herbal product; if the pond is contaminated, also disinfect the water and re-seed the water with beneficial microbes.
Is there a withdrawal time before harvest?
No: the withdrawal time before harvest is 0 days.
