Organic iodine — disinfecting fish ponds without shock
Iodine bound to a polymer, released slowly
Iodine is a strong disinfectant, but free iodine dissolves poorly in water and releases all at once. Organic iodine (Povidone Iodine) is iodine bound to the PVP polymer (polyvinylpyrrolidone): PVP holds the iodine like a reservoir and gradually releases free iodine into the water — enough to kill pathogens at a steady level.

- Do not apply them together, as iodine also kills beneficial microbes. Re-seed probiotics 2 – 3 days after disinfection.
